I've noticed I've got a bit too much Pitta or "heat" currently residing in my body, so it's a cooling salad on the menu for lunch today! If you're feeling unusually more angry, irritable, frustrated, impatient, judgemental, or critical; have indigestion, bad odour (breath or body), inflammation in joints, or excessive sweating, your Ayurvedic dosha may be a little high in Pitta, or as Chinese traditional medicine simply puts it as "heat". You can try eating more "cooling", detoxifying foods, like salads with astringent vegetables like collards or kale, and detoxifying spices like cumin or turmeric. You'll want to avoid spicy, fried foods for a while, as well as alcohol and caffeine. Increase your water intake to help flush out toxins 💦 For this simplified Cobb salad in particular, I've got romaine lettuce, collards, chard, a bit of spinach, with soft-boiled eggs, avocado, purple heirloom carrots, hemp hearts, and a simple dressing made with Apple cider vinegar, turmeric, maple syrup, and old fashioned mustard 😋 #Ayurveda #ayurvedicfood #cobbsalad #traditionalchinesemedicine #tcm #pitta #pittadosha

Very succinctly put, in a humourous way, the effects of caffeine-dependency on your mind and body - how taxing coffee in particular can be on your adrenals, cortisol levels, and liver (to name a few). And standard decaf coffee isn't much better - greater processing time using chemical solvents that take longer for your body to detox... For optimal performance, try to get enough sleep (going to bed before 11pm gives your liver optimal detoxing time), start your day off with a green smoothie or juice, and if needed, there are some brain-power boosting supplements you can take. We're fans of lions-mane mushroom - @foursigmatic makes an awesome powdered form you can slip in to your morning smoothie or tea beverage 🍄✌🏼️
