My name is Teenna Tsang, and I'm a Certified Nutritional Practitioner specializing in optimizing the brain, skin, and digestive system. I operate within a Functional Nutrition framework, offering personalized services, including lab testing to reveal imbalances in your body, and customized wellness protocols to help my clients achieve greater health and wellbeing. Over the years, I have formulated over 20 topical products for a variety of companies within Canada, utilizing botanical ingredients and wholistic methodologies. Aside from being an enthusiast of natural skincare practices and "neurohacking", I have a seemingly never-ending passion for the power of plants and the microbial universe, utilizing both in my practice for healing, as well as in my day-to-day workings and environment.

Like yours, my health journey is an ever-changing one.

It started as so many others do - not knowing how to support my mind and body nutritionally, I struggled with weight issues (both over and under), acne, poor teeth, aggravated epileptic seizures (complete with constant brain fog), and overall depression. Over time, a growing love for health and wellness combined with a rather obsessive researching nature led to slow shifts into a more balanced version of myself.

I say “balanced” because that is what I mean. The older I get, the more “tuned in” I become to the dynamic energies of life (that constant ebb and flow of the expanding and contracting forces we are surrounded by) and work to live in conjunction with these energies. I have an increasing understanding of what works for me and what doesn’t, and look forward to regularly gaining insights on what those factors are, as I grow, change, and adapt. This is something I hope my clients understand and see for themselves - that they are in fact a continual work in progress - one that will shift and change over time, and that “balance” can look a myriad of ways, all very different for each individual.

Philosophically, I have always been drawn to more Eastern ways of thinking and their importance on energetics. In terms of healing modalities, this means that I will regularly draw from both Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurvedic principles, utilizing both in conjunction with modern scientific understandings of our innermost workings.

Based on my own personal background/history and interests, my practice has 3 core areas of focus - Digestive, Brain, and Skin:

  • I have personally struggled with Epilepsy since I was a child. Previously experiencing regular “absence” seizures (at times 20+ events every hour) with the occasional tonic-clonic event whenever heavily stressed and sleep-deprived, I used to be reliant on a pharmaceutical regimen to manage them. However, I have since stopped any pharmaceutical interventions, choosing instead to utilize a specific supplement protocol and nutritional inputs to effectively nullify any symptoms, allowing me to live a normal life, free of any pharmaceutical dependency for the past 5 years. Having a predilection towards this neurological disorder has made me very fascinated with the brain, specifically the nutrients involved in optimizing neuronal activity and minimizing neurodegeneration.

  • Having cystic acne throughout my teens made me obsessed with skin care. From Benzoyl Peroxide and Salicylic Acid, to oral tetracyclines and birth control pills, I tested out almost every topical product and internal product at the time (thankfully never went through with Accutane) to fight my skin’s predilection towards the unsightly blemishes that always led to scarring. It wasn’t until I made dietary changes that resulted in obvious, long-term results to the health of my skin, quickly followed by a minimalistic, clean skincare regimen. Understanding what nutrients worked to feed my skin internally and externally, combined with my past studies in Sciences led to a passion in creating my own skincare products, which I continue to do for myself, my family, as well as for select companies. More recently, my studies have begun to diverge into the realm of bacteria, specifically how bacteria (in our gut, on our skin, in our environment, etc) impact our skin health.

  • My studies in holistic nutrition, combined with my past personal struggles with weight, leaky gut, and allergies (in addition to poor skin and foggy brain) have solidified my belief that the nutrients we consume from the foods we eat, supplements we take, and the air and water surrounding us, have a direct impact on how optimal our brains and bodies are functioning. A digestive system in peak condition can do wonders to ensure interconnected processes like immunity, skin health, mental and physical wellbeing, etc, are performing as they should. A digestive system negatively impacted by stress, poor nutrition/nutrient absorption, environmental toxins and energies, pathogens, etc, will have a snowball effect on the rest of your physical and mental health. This is why I firmly believe that our digestive systems and the health of our gastrointestinal tracts are a core component of our overall health and wellbeing, and that the effects of healing our digestive systems will therefore radiate to all areas of our minds and bodies.
